About Art Girl Rising:
The #5WomenArtists campaign, created by the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) inspired Art Girl Rising. Women in art have been faced with challenges due to gender biases in the art world for centuries, and they remain dramatically underrepresented and undervalued in museums, galleries, and auction houses.
We hope that Art Girl Rising will help spark conversations and raise awareness for this inequality.
Art Girl Rising was inspired by NMWA’s #5WomenArtists campaign, but is not affiliated with NMWA. A portion of the sale of each t-shirt tote bag and sweater is donated to NMWA to help fulfill their mission to champion women through the arts. To learn more about NMWA, visit nmwa.org
ArtGirlRising is managed and run by two passionate women Liezel and Nina. They are based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
