About Abstractions:

  • Centers women and non-binary abstract artists of color in the mainstream conversation around abstraction in modern art by elevating their contributions to it;

  • Highlights unknown, self-taught artists as well as those who are emerging and established;

  • Gives these artists space to craft, drive, and share their own narratives, insights, and commentary about their practices, work, and abstraction.

  • Provides thoughtful (but accessible) analysis on the history of abstraction;

  • Gives curators, critics, and collectors of color space to share their perspectives, expertise, and scholarship on abstraction;

  • Provides the public an exposure to and understanding of abstraction that's accessible.
